For out 101st park we visited the Olympic Legacy Park in Attercliffe. This has the honour of being the only park that has been created since we started the project!
Built on the site on the old Don Valley Arena, the site stays true to the area’s sporting heritage and name sake. It features a 100 metre running track and the beacon from the 1991 World Student Games which you can see in our photo.
The park has a way to go before it will feel established and lacks facilities such as a play park, but is a nice spot of green Sheffield’s industrial heart land.
